Chantilly, VA – September 23, 2009 – Audio Video Systems, Inc. (AVS), a fast growing audiovisual (A/V) design, engineering and systems integration firm, has been named as the number two small technology company in the Washington, D.C. region. This is AVS’ highest ranking yet, having maintained a ranking of seventh or higher for the last three years. The announcement, published in the September 18 issue of the Washington Business Journal, will also be listed in the publications’ annual Book of Lists.
AVS attributes its recent growth to contracts in new markets including in the health care and corporate fields, as well as regular government business such as agency-wide classroom renovations and facility upgrades for various government agencies. AVS’ ranking is based on company revenues from 2008.
“We are thrilled to be included in this ranking once again,” says Matt Komos, AVS’ chief operating officer. “With many companies still struggling to recover from recent hard times, we are lucky that we are still seeing growth in our industry and with our company. Again this is a testament to the hard-work and dedication of the AVS staff.”
As one of the largest small technology companies in the region, AVS joins other integrators and IT development firms on the list. AVS manages large-scale audiovisual (A/V) design-build projects from concept to completion, including command and control centers, network operations centers, secure and non-secure video teleconferencing facilities, training facilities and more.
With nearly twenty years of experience in the government and military sector, the company continues to see unprecedented growth. “Our success is built on the strength of our staff who have decades of experience and a high-level of expertise in designing, building, installing and maintaining secure and classified A/V systems, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, control systems, and more,” says Komos.
Established in 1992, AVS is a privately owned certified small business headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, dedicated to serving federal, state and local government agencies, higher education institutions and commercial enterprises worldwide.
AVS is a Diamond Level Solutions Provider under the audiovisual (AV) industry’s prestigious Audiovisual Solutions Provider (AVSP) Program. The Diamond designation is the highest level of certification a company can achieve in the industry. AVS first obtained the Diamond Level status in 2006 and remains near the top of the industry for having such a high percentage of staff with industry certifications. The award further demonstrates AVS’ commitment to continuing education and training for staff at all levels.
AVS also received the “Best Government AV Project (Federal)” award in both 2008 and 2009 as part of PRO AV Magazine’s Spotlight Awards program. The program recognizes the best professional audio/video installations designed for corporate, educational, and other non-residential applications. The awards were given for a U.S. Marine Corps Command Center in Hawaii (2008) and the Pentagon Press Briefing Room in Arlington, VA (2009).
