System Engineer
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The position of System Engineer is responsible for engineering both system and facility for designs to a highly detailed level to support the installation of audiovisual systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide product research, design and engineering required to produce documentation for installation of audiovisual systems
- Produce design documentation for use in implementing system installations. Typical documentation may include schematic signal flow diagrams, bill of materials, facility design drawings, projection geometry details, and detailed wiring diagrams for audio and control systems.
- Assist the sales and proposal departments in developing proposals and estimates for clients. The typical documents developed in this process include, system sketches, bills of materials, and needs analysis documents.
- Perform system testing and calibration for proper performance that will include:
- Performing test procedures both in house and on site
- Calibration of video and audio equipment to include, projectors, display walls and audio matrix mixers and voice reinforcement systems.
- Document deficiencies and verification of proper resolution.
- Participate in a design review processes to ensure the quality and consistency of engineering work.
- Attend client meetings during various phases of the project. Responsibilities for these meetings may include:
o Gathering customer requirements
o Presenting facility impact assessments to clients/contractors
o Presenting design options to clients
o Train end user on complex audiovisual system operation
- Participate in team based design projects
- Troubleshoot secure and non-secure VTC systems including coordination with service provider and LAN administrators for proper connectivity.
- Program and troubleshoot Crestron and / or AMX control systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year technical degree, in the electronics or technical field and one of the following, or at least two of the following:
- 3-5 years of broad technical experience
- 3-5 years of engineering experience
- 3-5 years of audiovisual installation experience
- ICIA CTS or CTS-D Certification
- Basic to intermediate experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft office suite and Crestron or AMX programming
