AVS PRESS RELEASES

Audio Video Systems Ranked Amongst Top Small Technology Companies in DC Metro Area for Second Straight Year

Chantilly, VA – January 2008 – Audio Video Systems, Inc., (AVS), a fast growing provider of audiovisual (A/V) design, engineering and systems integration, has again been named as a top small technology company in the Washington Business Journal’s 2008 Book of Lists. The announcement, originally made in the October 5, 2007 issue of the Washington Business Journal, has been listed in the publication’s annual Book of Lists. Ranked seventh in the Washington D.C. metro region, AVS has maintained its ranking among the top local small technology companies, for a second straight year.

As one of the largest small technology companies in the region, AVS joins other integrators and IT development firms on the list. From concept to completion, AVS manages large-scale A/V design-build projects supporting command and control centers, network operations centers, secure and non-secure video teleconferencing, and intelligent video surveillance facilities.

“We have completed some exciting projects, not only through the Pentagon Renovation (PENREN) program, but also some newer projects that have come to us that will keep us extremely busy for the foreseeable future,” said Matt Komos, AVS’ chief operating officer. He credits the company’s continued relationship with the PENREN program as a major component of the company’s steady growth. Last year, AVS secured a five-year IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract to provide personnel, service and equipment for all Pentagon and Pentagon auxiliary locations for A/V systems. AVS also secured several other blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) with government and military groups.

Other areas that helped with the company’s growth this past year included an increase in design contracts, its specialty in the intelligence community and the launch of its new ReadyView Systems product line. The ReadyView systems are easy-to-maintain, standardized and pre-engineered A/V systems at a fixed price, and are ideal for small to medium meeting rooms, classrooms and more.

AVS also completed some large projects for the State Department, the Naval Observatory, Department of Veterans Affairs, Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, and the medical center at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, which suffered significant damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Keesler’s Medical Center serves as the Federal Coordinating Center for the National Disaster Medical System, the medical arm of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

“We are thrilled to be included in this ranking again,” said Komos. “With a continued focus on complex A/V systems, our core mission remains in the design and engineering of systems that bring together the data, voice, video and audio collaboration required in today’s government and military mission critical systems.”

The company relies on its 15 years of experience in the government and military sector and the expertise of its engineers, project managers and installers who have decades of experience in designing, building, installing and maintaining A/V systems, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, Secure Classified Information Facilities (SCIF), control systems, and more. AVS can also provide expertise and service in enterprise architecture, IT management consulting and procurement where A/V systems are integral to the infrastructure.

AVS’ ranking was based on company revenues from the previous year.
