The Financial Services Roundtable Improves Quality of Communications with High-End Audio/Video-Teleconferencing Solution from AVS
Advanced A/V Teleconferencing Capabilities Increase Organization’s Effectiveness as the Financial Services Industry’s Premier Public Policy Forum
Chantilly, VA – June 27, 2006 – Audio Video Systems, Inc., (AVS) a leading provider of custom audio/video (A/V) design-build and systems integration services for government and commercial organizations, today announced that The Financial Services Roundtable, a Washington, D.C.- based trade association that serves as the premier forum for financial services industry leaders to discuss critical public policy issues, is communicating and collaborating more effectively with its member companies following AVS’ comprehensive re-design of the organization’s A/V teleconferencing capabilities, briefing rooms, and display systems.
The Roundtable turned to AVS in June 2005 to conduct a thorough engineering assessment and re-design of the existing conferencing systems, briefing rooms, equipment, acoustics, lighting, and other environmental dynamics. The re-designed system leverages the latest briefing and display system technologies, makes better use of the physical space, simplifies training, and protects component systems against interference from wireless devices such as cell phones, PDAs, and laptops.
“Our ability to communicate and collaborate effectively is critical to serving the multifaceted needs of our member companies, stakeholders, partners, and staff,” said Steve Bartlett, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Financial Services Roundtable. “AVS helped us succeed where others have not, and the ability to use our own conferencing capabilities rather than conduct events off-site has produced considerable cost-savings. Our staff, member committees, and other working groups can rely with confidence on the new A/V systems to meet their daily communications needs. The system has also performed flawlessly during the monthly meetings of the government affairs directors of our 100 member companies, and during our Winter board meeting with the CEOs of our member companies.”
AVS completed the first phase of the re-design effort in November 2005. This work largely focused on programming, calibrating, and testing the existing systems to ensure that all participants could be equally heard and seen, and to solve the problem of wireless interference. In subsequent phases AVS engineered improvements that allowed teleconferencing, videoconferencing, and interactive white-boarding and multimedia displays in various conference room configurations. An AVS-programmed and integrated control system handles all operational aspects, such as lighting and environmental controls, and local control panels allow users to direct any audio or video source to any integrated audio or video playback device regardless of location.
“From the start, our goal was to restore staff and member confidence in the organization’s briefing and display systems by re-engineering those systems to make intelligent use of the physical space and take full advantage of the latest A/V technologies and equipment,” said Dave Raden, Chief Technology Officer, AVS. “We remain committed to continuing our collaborative relationship with The Financial Services Roundtable and ensuring that the solution suits the organization’s long-term requirements.”
